New Poll Spells Bad News For Both Trump and Biden

Talk about the 2024 presidential election continues to swarm. With Democrats eager to ditch Biden and Republicans debating about whether Trump should run for president again, there are a lot of opinions to go around.

On the Democratic side, there’s a growing view that Biden is too elderly and not efficient enough to continue leading the party.

On the GOP side, Republicans are collectively split on whether Trump should go for the White House again or if he should step aside for a different candidate.

Biden has claimed running against Trump again is something he wouldn’t be disappointed about at all. Meanwhile, new polling shows that most Americans do not want either the current president or his predecessor to run in 2024, per Washington Examiner.

The Latest From the American People

The percentage of voters who don’t want Biden running (60%+) and those who don’t want Trump running (57%) are pretty close together.

On the Democratic side, 30% of Democrats would be in favor of a different candidate. Meanwhile, on the GOP side, 26% want a nominee who is not Trump.

Thus far, the top alternatives for Biden and Trump running in 2024 are Vice President Kamala Harris and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Other names of possible candidates on both sides include Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, former Vice President Mike Pence, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, etc.

Despite this polling, both Biden and his White House have repeatedly insisted that he’s going to run for another term in 2024. Meanwhile, Trump has hinted on multiple occasions that he’s planning to launch a third presidential campaign as well.

Potential Issues For Both Candidates

At the rate Biden is going, Democrats are going to end up successfully primarying him. The progressive wing of the party is especially displeased with how Biden’s tackled various issues.

With Trump, there have been rumors that he may announce his 2024 presidential election plans as a means of shutting down momentum for other possible GOP candidates.

However, the Republican National Committee (RNC) recently moved to put an end to this. The organization informed that if Trump chooses to announce his 2024 candidacy before the midterms are over, they’ll stop covering his legal bills.

Word is the RNC has concerns that Trump announcing his candidacy in the 2024 presidential election would hurt the GOP in the midterms and possibly increase Democratic voter turnout.

Naturally, the GOP is eager to take back the House and Senate in order to be in the best possible position to push back on Biden.

After the midterms, however, Americans will have a much better idea as to whether or not Biden and/or Trump are going to run for reelection.
