One of the most crushing blows to come to Joe Biden as president is the loss of Democrats in his corner. Despite how much Biden denies this when confronted by the media, Democrats have tired of the current president.
They don’t see him as effective in delivering on issues that the party values. Furthermore, Democrats largely believe that Biden is just too old and a younger candidate would be better suited to lead the party.
The president managed to dig his own grave with Democrats, owing to how he’s approached student loan debt, climate change, and various free handouts that he promised to give.
Now, yet another Democrat has come out and said Biden should decline to seek reelection once 2024 arrives, per Washington Examiner.
Another Gut Punch to Biden
While speaking with WCCO this week, Minnesota Democratic Rep. Dean Phillips did not mince words when discussing what he thinks about the president.
Phillips claims that he respects Biden and views him as a man of empathy who’s served the United States well. However, the Democratic representative then said a “generational change” is necessary and he doesn’t think Biden should seek reelection.
After expressly stating he wouldn’t support Biden in 2024, the Minnesota congressman claimed “missteps” and “mistakes” have been made by the incumbent president.
Dean Phillips is the FIRST Democratic member of Congress to say Biden SHOULD NOT run in 2024. The dam is breaking. Soon, MANY MORE Democrats will come out against him. NOBODY wants him in the Oval Office!

Phillips joins a list of Democrats who’ve refused to confirm their support for Biden.
When Reps. Cori Bush and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez were asked, Bush told the reporter not to question her about Biden’s 20204 plans; meanwhile, Ocasio-Cortez said she’d have to essentially wait and see.
Despite this growing pattern of Democrats steering clear of discussing Biden’s reelection or even outrightly stating he shouldn’t run, Biden is still on the record as claiming that his party wants him to run for a second term.
The facts simply do not bear this out.
Who Could Replace Biden?
The list of Democrats who could run in 2024 to oust Biden is growing.
Of course, there is Vice President Kamala Harris; although her approval ratings could very well turn out to be an issue.
Then, there are Democratic governors like California’s Gavin Newsom and Illinois’ J.B. Pritzker. Previous Democratic presidential candidates like Sen. Bernie Sanders and current White House Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg have been listed as well.
Asked Dem Rep. Dean Phillips about his comment that he wouldn’t back Biden in 2024, and he told me: “Biden has been the principled, stabilizing bridge the country needed. I just believe it’s time for generational change in Congress and the White House.”

Democrats are gradually coming around to the fact that Biden is a deeply unpopular president. Republicans don’t like him. Independents have grown largely dissatisfied with him and even left-wingers are looking for alternatives.
By the time 2024 gets here, Biden could very well find himself with virtually no support left. The current malaise with the president comes not even two years into his tenure.
