The Biden White House has teamed up with almost 100 online influencers, including multiple TikTok and Instagram stars, to persuade people to get vaccinated from the coronavirus.
The number of people getting vaccinated in America has slowed in recent months, with only 56% being fully vaccinated. Teenagers between the ages of 12 and 18, who spend a large amount of time on social media, became eligible for vaccines earlier this summer.
The White House has joined forces with popular figures, such as pop star Olivia Rodrigo, TikTok comedian Benny Drama, TikTok activist Jax James, TikTok influencer Taylor Cassidy, and YouTube personality Coyote Peterson, among others, to spread awareness regarding the coronavirus vaccine. Some have been invited to the White House itself to film videos or make speeches, while others have been asked to create vaccine content independently that the White House approves of, the Washingtonian reported .
